Frequently Asked Questions

What is UCAS and how does it work?

UCAS is the central system used to apply for undergraduate courses in the UK. You can apply to up to five courses, track your progress, respond to offers, and manage everything in one place.

How do I choose the right course?

Start with your interests and career goals. Look at course content, entry requirements, and how the course is assessed. Use tools like the UCAS search and university websites to compare.

What is a personal statement, and how do I write one?

A personal statement is your chance to show why you’re a great fit for your chosen subject. It should highlight your motivation, skills, and experience. Start early, and revise it carefully!

What happens after I apply?

After submitting your application, universities will review it and may make you an offer — either conditional or unconditional. You’ll be able to view responses through UCAS Track.

How do I accept my offers?

Once you receive responses, you’ll choose a firm choice (your top pick) and an insurance choice (a backup). Make sure you’re happy with both before confirming.

Can international students apply through UCAS?

Yes! International applicants use UCAS just like UK students, though you may need to submit additional documents like proof of English language ability or visa details.

What is a conditional vs. unconditional offer?

A conditional offer means you need to meet certain requirements (like A-level results). An unconditional offer means you’ve already met the requirements — no more waiting.
